Crystal Payoff participates in affiliate marketing programs with financial institutions and comparison services. This means that when you click certain links on this site and go on to apply for or open a financial product — such as a balance transfer credit card, a personal loan, or a debt consolidation product — we may receive a commission from the issuer or comparison platform.
This comes at no additional cost to you. The rate, terms, and fees you see when you apply through a link on this site are the same rate, terms, and fees you would see going directly to the issuer's website. Affiliate commissions are paid out of the issuer's marketing budget, not out of your pocket.
How affiliate relationships affect our content
They don't influence the math, and they don't influence the payoff order we recommend.
Our calculator results, recommendations, and editorial content are not influenced by our affiliate relationships. We show the mathematically optimal payoff method — the debt avalanche — regardless of any commercial relationships. If a balance transfer would make sense for your situation, we'll say so; if it wouldn't, we'll say so just as clearly, even when we have an affiliate relationship with the product.
We only feature products that we believe are genuinely relevant to people working to pay off credit card debt. We do not accept payment to rank one product above another, and we do not publish content that exists purely to drive affiliate clicks.
What "affiliate link" means on this site
Any link on this site that leads to a third-party product application page may be an affiliate link. Where required, we mark these links clearly. Even where they are not individually marked, you can assume that any outbound link to a financial product page is potentially compensated.
Questions
If you have a question about a specific recommendation, the math behind a payoff plan, or any of our affiliate relationships, please write to us at [email protected]. We're happy to walk through how a particular result was calculated or which products, if any, paid us anything.
